Stax Museum of American Soul Music
The Stax Museum of American Soul Music is a 17,000 square-foot museum celebrating American soul music, particularly that of Stax Records. The only soul museum in the world, the Stax Museum has more than 2,000 interactive exhibits, films, videos, photographs, stage costumes, instruments, and other items of memorabilia, including an authentic 100-year-old Mississippi Delta church, a Soul Train Dance Floor, and Isaac Hayes' restored 1972 peacock-blue, gold-trimmed Cadillac El Dorado. Adjacent to the museum is the Stax Music Academy and Stax Music Academy Charter School.
